The 'Governor' Simon set up the business in 1990. A Self-confessed MAMIL (middle-aged man in lycra) Simon's aprés-cycle cool down is probably the most traumatic part of the studio's day, as he does insist
on a cool down period while wearing the
Enthusiastic, full of ideas, and loving the latest trends in design and technology, he keeps his 'hands oily' (figuratively speaking) by doing most of the studio's photography. That's when he's not 'Blue Sky' thinking about clients' Brandscapes!
Di is the Miss Money Penny of the team and for those of you who don't know, she is the original "suit" and one of the founding partners of 3 Men.
Although part time she still has her finger firmly on the button and her eye on the numbers.
Tough but fair, she's not a girl to mess with when it comes to the accounts.
She loves sun, sea, sand, all things wild and of course clients that pay their bills on time.
Loves all things creative, colourful and quirky. Laura grew up in Holland and still cycles everywhere but doesn’t come into the office in full lycra- just a wicker basket from time to time. She has travelled all over the world learning about local cultures, collecting local recipes and even wrote a book about it. She has eaten some pretty weird things (sorry Paola), but favourite food is still avocados! When she isn’t seeking out another adventure you can find her down at the
beach or in the garden attempting grow vegetables
and cooking up a storm on the barbie!
Yes, Brook Fabian is his real name! It's also the main reason that 3 Men hired him shortly after he graduated from Bath Spa University College with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. Luckily for him he is still here nine years on. Brook likes to get involved in as many aspects of the design process as he can. He is also the other half of 3 Men's photographic and more recently film department and as far as he knows has sold the most pictures on The Alamy Photolibrary between him and Simon. Other things he is interested in are swimming in the sea, ice cold Mexican beer and Will Ferrell films.
Dan is a well educated person with excellent table manners. He has been awarded a Fellowship to the Royal Society of Arts for displaying a "good social conscience" in his work. He likes drinking tea, eating gummy sweets and listening to Post New Wave Space Math Folk Rap Dance music. When he grows up he wants to be an astronaut.
Although to our English ears he sounds a bit.. "Top O’ The Morning’ To Ya” This erstwhile Irishman is in fact from Somerset but in our defence Daniel reliably informs us that he sounds Irish in England and English in Ireland!! He also likes Mad Max & Planet of the Apes films, as well as keeping fit - could this be to survive a post-apocalyptic wasteland we wonder? Well all that aside he’s a cracking designer and all round nice guy!
Say Здравейте to Paola (that’s ‘hello’ in Bulgarian don’t you know).
She’s an ace designer, she’s Bulgarian and she buys great cookies; the perfect skill set for her new role as a Junior Designer and Slavic Translator. Even though she refuses to eat anything ‘Grown on the Bone' and stands against the ultimate studio favourite - bacon sandwiches, she always gets a big portion of support, banter and lettuce. Paola claims no horror movie can frighten her… mainly because she always looks away during the scary bits!
I look after web department and my day is filled with all things technical – from translating designs into functional websites to implementing new features and fixing bugs. I'm always striving to find the most efficient ways and utilize the right technology.
I’m one of the web developers here and I turn the lovely visuals created by our designers into fully functioning, responsive websites. I'm always learning new stuff and thoroughly enjoy the technical side of things!
Louise has been a proper (read: old school, grammar-picky) copywriter for over 20 years. She's tasked with making companies and their products and services sound amazing online and in print, press and social media. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Southampton University and writes fiction in the middle of the night. She lives by the motto 'never say 'no' to anything', which often gets her into trouble, but gives her plenty to write about. When she isn't writing, she'll be enjoying good books, wines, films, heels and bright red.
3 Men only accept copywriters if they are called Louise. This Louise likes words and has a thing about palindromes. Her favourite one is "I roamed under it as a tired, nude Maori" as it raises more questions than it answers.
Louise has a useless degree (Latin) from Edinburgh University, used to write for posh national newspapers but prefers writing shiny, happy words for shiny, happy clients. She also writes comedy, admires rodents and is an award-winning storyteller.
Our own one man SWOT* Team & Suit! Alex is the man to bringing financial genius and strategic input to the team. Alex is particularly fond of his energy efficient oversized calculator and producing results on it that often mystify the rest of the team!
A keen marathon runner, cricketer and chess (yes chess) player his two children Archie and Orla are the most important things in his life (apart from maybe his calculator!).
