3 Men in Olympic Challenge
8 July 2005
Continuing their ongoing relationship with the world governing body for sailing, the International Sailing Federation (ISAF), design company 3 Men & a Suit were presented with an exciting challenge. Sailing has been on the Olympic Programme since 1900 and ISAF, who are based in Southampton, wanted to reinforce the sport's well established standing within the Olympic organisation, and among the IOC members, when the IOC voted on 8 July 2005 for which sports were to be included in the 2012 Games. Working closely with ISAF, 3 Men & a Suit produced a fun but professional four page leaflet in English and French which would stand out from the mountain of information promoting the current olympic sports and those new sports lobbying to be included on the 2012 programme. The leaflet, which is in an elegant non-standard format, details sailing's Olympic history and promotes its global spread and universal nature. With an emphasis on photos driving the design the leaflet should also come in handy for recognising any returning olympians when the games come to London and sailing to Weymouth in 7 years' time!
